Before you invest in a new development property, it is always wise to do your homework, and ask the right questions from your property developer. You really should be asking questions about the area, the housing market, value and rental potential.
But there are more questions worth asking, after all, it is your money, and a wrong decision could be costly. So go ahead and ask as many questions as it will take to make an informed decision.
Ask about rental income versus capital gains, what is the rental or resell competition, and importantly, get clarification about what is included in the sale. Just because they say you have two parking spots, does not mean that there are two showing on the deed of sale.
And finally, ask who they are marketing the property to, you don’t want to invest if you’re looking for families, but they are targeting students.
